| We are thrilled to announce our next open house because it is also a very special event for A Grand Affaire. It is our 10 Year Anniversary! “Diamond” will be a very special open house on Friday, October 24th, 2008 from 5:30pm to 10:30pm. Since we first began A Grand Affaire in Seattle in 1998 we will be hosting this event just blocks away from our original location in downtown Seattle. Please join us at the Lake Union Park Naval Reserve Building at 860 Terry Avenue North (click for directions). It will be a sparkling gala to remember with plenty of entertainment, complimentary food and beverages. Thank you to everyone who attended our last open house “Peridot” on June 29th. It was a beautiful sunny afternoon which beckoned us to the terrace where we enjoyed the Commencement Bay view, the lush herb garden, and the delicious gourmet barbecue slider station. Not to mention the cilantro pepper margaritas. What a way to spend a lovely summer day!
Although we are known for our love of throwing a great party, and of course pretty sparkly things, we were happy to showcase in this open house our respect for the environment. Like the gemstone highlighted in this open house, we used this as an opportunity to show some ways to "Go Green” when planning a special event. We are lucky to live in a region where food grows in abundance. In an attempt to lesson our carbon footprint, we used primarily locally grown foods, taking advantage of all of the wonderful organic farms in the area. We also featured vendors like Make A Scene event decor rentals and Flowers for Rent that can help you make your event more “Green” by reducing waste. The day was topped off with Fresh Herb Creme Brulee and Key Lime Pie Martinis. So if you weren't there, we bet you were green with envy now! |

| We don't want to toot our own horn (or maybe we do), but we just have to tell you about our award winning Tarragon Lobster Bisque! We were honored to receive the Golden Brussel Sprout Award from the Master Gardener's Association at the 2nd Annual Herb Hors d'oeuvre Challenge in April 2008. We were presented this award by none other than the Northwest's famous gardener, Cisco. Ooh la la! Some of Seattle's finest caterers competed at this "top chef" style event for this honor and bragging right. Over 300 attendees of this fund-raising event voted on their favorite appetizer which was to be inspired by a fresh herb. We chose tarragon and it paired beautifully with our creamy lobster bisque. Then we served it in elegant wine glasses with a white cheddar and peppadew biscotti for a stand out presentation. Guess they liked it! Thank you for your support! |
