Monica S. Newby, Catering Director / Owner

Monica brings twenty+ years of food service, management and sales experience to create A Grand Affaire. With her experience as a Certified Financial Planning Practitioner, she also handles the business aspect of the company. And, as her nickname, "the party girl" indicates, she enjoys creating spectacular events. Monica’s talent in organization and leadership has created a skilled team that is sure to make each event as Grand as you would expect from the most prestigious caterers. Her thorough attention to detail and her passion for food brings success and great taste to your events. Since opening for business in 1998, Monica has developed A Grand Affaire into a finely tuned catering service.
Robb Newby, Co-Owner

Robb’s talents contributed to the successful establishment of the company. His background in restaurants and employment recruiting provided us with a knowledgeable, professional and friendly service staff team. Although he is no longer part of the full-time team, his strong communication and leadership skills continue to inspire Monica and the rest of the team toward excellence in customer service, professinalism, and utmost integrity.
 

Luis Sanchez, Chef
Chef Luis brings several years of catering and restaurant experience to A Grand Affaire.  Though he is originally from Cancun, Mexico, he has a strong background in Mediterannean cooking and has worked with many other ethnic cuisines as well.  This flexibility and talent for quickly learning several cooking techniques makes customized menus a cinch for Luis. He has a knack for making everything taste great and look beautiful too.  And to top it off he's truly a pleasure to work with in and out of the kitchen.


 
J. Emily Guy, Operations Manager

As the Operations Manager for A Grand Affaire, Emily does a little bit of everything. From hiring new employees, to managing events, and working with clients to plan and execute their events. She makes it her goal to personally connect with each client she works with. With a strong background in customer service, giving each client the star treatment is what makes the job special for her. Whether you want party platters or full service catering, Emily will handle the details to ensure that your event will be successful and smooth.. We have been lucky enough to have worked with Emily since 1999 and we look forward to many, many more Grand Affaires with you!
